Activities

In normal times the church sponsors a number of regular activities. Currently due to Covid 19 these are suspended.

When we can, we will hope to restart the following activities.

Sunday Club

Sunday Club for children normally takes place during the Parish Communion service on one Sunday in the month in the vestry at St. Barnabas Church, Great Tey. We think we are likely to start again after the summer holidays, but we will let you know more precisely via this website and ‘Round and About’

We enjoy a bible story, activities and arts and crafts on the theme of the story.  Sunday Club is for primary aged children and younger ones are very welcome if accompanied by a parent/carer. If you would like to know more, please contact Elizabeth admin@edwardbear.org.uk

Edward Bear

edward bearOnce we are out of ‘Lock down’, Edward Bear would like to invite babies and pre-school children (and their adults!) to our meetings on the first Friday of the month during term-time at St. Barnabas Church, Great Tey.

We meet at 2pm in the church for a short time of praise with songs and a story, we then have an activity and playtime with juice and biscuits for the children and cups of tea or coffee for the adults.  We finish at 3pm so that older children can be met from school.

Come and join us! …and ring the church bell!

Start date: we hope to be able to meet before the summer holidays. Please watch the website and R and A for news, or contact us by email for information.

We hope to hold our Summer garden party, but again, all depends on where we are with Covid... we then break for the summer, starting again in September.
To find out more, including our themes and future dates please take a look at our website:  www.edwardbear.org.uk or email us at admin@edwardbear.org.uk

We look forward to seeing you soon!  Elizabeth and Emma.

Church Youth Group

As with all church activities, the Group hasn’t been able to meet during Covid restrictions. Once these come to an end, Elizabeth Dance and Nikki Dann-Smith have agreed to see if it can be re-invigorated. The young people used to narrate the Christmas Nativity, make Christingles as well as going on 2-3 social activities each year. The last activities were a visit to the floating Ark when it was in Ipswich, a sponsored swim, and a day at a beach hut on Frinton beach.

Watch out for more information in due course.

Mothers Union

Great & Little Tey's Mothers Union is the last remaining MU in the deanery and hopes to continue to meet once it is safe to do so.
