Church News March 2026
New Rector
As this is written, there is still no news, unfortunately. The closing date for the latest round of recruitment is towards the end of February, so perhaps more news next month.
Compline
Compline is a serene, short night prayer service marking the "completion" of the day, with roots dating back to the 6th century. This meditative service emphasises quiet reflection, confession and peace before rest.
Each Wednesday during Lent there will be a service of Compline in Little Tey Church at 7.30pm. On each occasion there will be a short passage read from a book called ‘Acts of Hope’, focusing on the teaching and journeys of St Paul and the disciples. Following the reading there will be brief reflections on the passage led by some members of the congregation.
Mothering Sunday 15th of March, 10am with some hand bell ringing
As usual we are having a morning service focusing on families and in particular, mothers, and grandmothers but also all those who are important in our family life.
We are hoping to start the service with some hand bell ringing to celebrate them.
We need volunteers – especially children with family members. We will have a practice on Saturday morning 14th March at 11am. Anyone between 6 and 90 can ring a bell, so come and have a go!
