New Rector

We have one candidate who has put their name forward for the post. Interviews were going to be held this month. Unfortunately, the applicant has a badly broken leg, so there is going to be a delay. More news next month.

Celebrating Harvest

It was good to see all those who came to celebrate the gathering in of the harvest and to remember just how lucky we are to live where we do, where most have enough to eat and where, by and large, we don’t suffer from draught and famine.

Harvest Supper proved popular as ever, celebrated in a traditional Essex barn, with live music and stories of life in Colchester in another age. We were very grateful to Celia and her trio who played for us and Jane Pearson who talked about gleaning in days gone by and how important it was in preventing starvation in winter. Thank you to everyone who brought wonderful things to eat and to all those who came and made the party a success.
